While driving along the farm-fields of the Illinois heartland, I came upon a sad ol’ abandoned home.  As I stood a top my car to capture a full glimpse of her, she spoke to me-tugging gently on my heart, endearing me to her. Although she was weathered, worn & crumbling, this forlorn majestic beauty’s homestead soul remained strong, stead fast and true… watching sunrise after sunset, encapsulating the past and shining in all of her glory –  that she knew she once was.
