“The Imposter”

While driving near the lowlands of the Illinois Heartland, I came upon a heavenly field of Sunflowers.
As I walked in the midst of them, their faces seem to lift up and follow me.
I stood there in awe, watching them playfully dance in the magic winds that rushed up from Troublesome Creek. I noticed a seventh one-secretly peering in, yearning to be one of them…who else, but the beautiful sun that had created them.   How fitting – as this grand flower also reaches to its maker – the sun! They are one.
