“Our Magic Maple Tree”

The beautiful Sugar Maple tree holds enchanting and mystical charms. Its sweet sugary sap rises up from its roots, bringing sweetness and nourishment to the tree. The sugar maple is critically important to the health of forests throughout its range, often forming pairings with beech, birch, oak, and ash. Sugar Maples produce a vibrant display in the fall and is sometimes called the “fire maple” because it produces brilliant red, orange, and yellow leaves. Our magical maple is the oldest in the area , and is a haven for all sorts of whimsical creatures all year round. – taken at our simple “picket- fence” farmhouse south of Fandon, Illinois.
