“The Wolf Pup & Opossum”
From ancient times, many have both feared and been fascinated by the majestic Wolf,
& few animals capture people’s imagination quite like the Wolf. Maybe it’s because
there’s a part of us that identifies with that wild, untamed spirit. Wolves figure
prominently in the mythology of nearly every American Indian tribe as a soul they have
great respect for- signifying power, courage, strength, loyalty, kinship & are
considered a spirit guide of life. They would never kill a wolf, believing their soul is a
brother & true best friend. Wolves are generally not aggressive, are very loyal, mating for life.

Opossums are gentle, shy creatures who are generally harmless. They have different
meanings & symbolism across the world. In many indigenous cultures, opossums are
considered sacred animals representing wisdom, resourcefulness, cleverness,
adaptability, protection, resilience and shadow work (confronting&working through
one’s fears of negativity). They were thought to have helped humans, thus were promised
to never be a threat and should not be harmed. Opossums are caring creatures, & are
the only marsupials in NorthAmerica- another one of God’s miracles.
